just a normal person

Well, I am just that...a normal person. Though these days it is so hard to say what normal is. Part of me has given up on society. It seems as if no one is satisfied anymore, they always want more, and they already have too much. People are too greedy and in too much of a hurry. I can honestly say I am content with my life. I have dreams for the future and they are realistic.

I want to be a wife and a mother as much as or even more than I want to continue my job as a teacher. I want to cook dinner for my husband and help my son or daughter learn to appreciate the beauty of the world around them. I want to watch them build dams in the creek and help me in the garden. I want to be there to fix them up when they fall out of a tree for the first time. I want to laugh with them. I want to hold my husband's hand every day and hug him at least three times a day. I want to be the best teacher I can be. I want to be proud of my students and more importantly proud of the work that I am doing as their teacher. I want to teach them more than the FCAT, I want to teach them confidence and life skills. Oh yeah, and I want a pet goat.

I am engaged and getting ready to plan my wedding once my fiancee graduates. All I know so far is I want it simple. We will get married at his house in Costa Rica with only our closest family and friends. I will wear a nice dress and we will eat, dance, listen to music, and laugh. No fancy flowers, no matching invitations and table cards, no fuss. Just a celebration of my future. We just picked out our wedding bands. His is a black tungsten band and mine is a sapphire band to match my sapphire and diamond engagement ring.

My life is far from perfect. I just try not to complain too much. Sometimes I am afraid I keep too many things inside. This will be my personal place to lash out and vent some of my deep frustrations. Sometimes it's personal, sometimes it's work. But, I will save those for later. This is just my introduction. I have to go to the grocery store to pick up the rest of the ingredients for chicken enchiladas. Anything I can use tomatoes in is great, my tomato plants are producing like crazy! We had homemade bread, tomatoes and avocados for lunch....I love summer!
